Jiani joined the Rennie Center with a background in the economics of education, which analyzes the economic and social determinants and consequences of education. Jiani is a Master of Education student in the economics and education program at Teachers College, Columbia University. Her research interests include the impact of financial aid programs on academic and labor market outcomes, understanding how youth make choices on education investments, and the economic return to higher education. Jiani received her M.A in Higher Education Administration from George Washington University and her B.A in English from University of Washington – Seattle. Prior to joining the Rennie Center, Jiani was a research intern on Student Parent for Success Initiative for the Institute for Women’s Policy Research, where she worked to assess the impact of access to child care on low-income student parents, especially single mothers, in accessing and completing postsecondary education.
